I don't believe in giving superstitions any attention because I don't believe that they deal with reality.

To relieve stress I take quiet time out for myself, either out in nature or in a quiet room. I meditate or just absorb my surroundings if I am outside, taking in every little detail of the beautiful living things in nature.....the way a leaf is veined, the pattern of growing grass, the color and texture of a flower, the song and joy of a bird, the buzz and flight of a bee, the color and sturdiness of a rock. Nature soothes me.

Other ways to relieve stress are exercise, listening to music....sometimes soothing music, sometimes loud rock, and anything else in between depending on my mood, reading, watching a good movie, chatting with a friend, spending time with my horses, etc.
