Actor Donald Sutherland passed away in Miami today. He was 88-years-old and had been ill for some time. Sutherland was known for his roles in "Ordinary People" and "Don't Look Now".

One of his best feature performances, and not as well-known, is in the WWII spy thriller "Eye of the Needle" (1981). Based on the Ken Follet novel, the film also stars Kate Nelligan as the wife of a crippled, bitter man who moves the family to a remote island. Sutherland's character washes ashore and charms the unfulfilled wife and mother until... The movie is full of suspense and thwarted sexuality.
