Our local library hosted the Amereican Revolution Experience and the two local DAR chapters chapter held genealogy workshops to help those interested in tracing their Revolutionary War Patriots of Color. We learned about a number of great resources.
The Children of the American Revolution (CAR) are exploring the life of James Lafayette. His surname was Armistreat but after working with the Marquis de Lafayette during the War as a spy and then gaining his freedom from enslavement he took the surname Lafayette.
Yorktown Day was yesterday October 19. Every year is big there with a parade and other events. I didn't make it again this year. Lafayettes farewell tour is big this year too.
