Hi, CDM! I teach everything now, since I'm retired! I really love English, Science and Math as a sub, but I taught English and Art. Trish

I've been losing weight since September. All I've been doing is eating less, eating better and exercising more. It's really simple formula.
Rebecca 45 lbs lost and 29 inches

Hi Rebecca, Welcome to the forum. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful.
Losing weight slowly, doing it the way you are is the best way! The changes are likely to be very long lasting once you lose weight.
Way to go!

Hi All,
Any ideas of some nutrious meals for lunch? Something without bread. I feel sometimes I have bread for breakfast, bread for lunch. Salad also seems to go off and I find it hard to get to the local shop after work.
I know how my weight increase happened in the last 18 months it started when I felt depressed about not having any work and it crept on but then when I went back to work I realised I didn't have as much time and I got totally out of the habit of eating well. Its the lunches that catch me out and also the time distance between lunch and my evening meal is long sometimes six hours and thus, then I seem to not feel satisfied even after my evening meal.
It is good to have support. Theressa

Theressa, here are some of my lunches:
Canned Tuna or Chicken or Salmon--you can buy small cans that heve pop-tops and are very portable. Add some Rye-Krisp crackers (low cal and loaded with fiber. I like the seasoned ones.) Take carrot sticks and ranch dressing and you're all set.
A wrap--use burrito-sized tortillas (wheat ones are best with more fiber) and put in whatever you like. I like spinach leaves, turkey, tomato, pepper or cucumber strips and a bit of lite ranch or lite mayo.
Tex-Mex Brown Rice. Cook the brown rice, then add canned corn and black beans and your favorite jarred salsa. Add some Tex-Mex spices and heat it up. You can add cooked ground beef or turkey to make it heartier, too. Good in wraps with lettuce, or just in a bowl.
Try to have a snack mid-afternoon if you can. Try high-protein nuts (very portable--portion one-ounce in a snack-sized ziplock.) String cheese or peanut butter or some lunchmeat will also give you a protein boost. Add some Rye Krisp crackers or an apple for some fiber and that should take you to dinner.
Good luck!

I make my husband wraps for his lunch every day with low carb wraps, mozarella cheese, turkey and lettuce.
Also, about the salmon-you can get it in convenient pouches now too.
I make small salads for me with salmon on it for lunch or even a smoothie with berries, green tea, yogurt and a banana.
Almonds are good for losing weight and keeping the hunger at bay also. I sometimes put almond butter on whole grain crackers for lunch.
It's actually better for weight loss to eat smaller meals 5 times daily, which is what I try to do.

I agree with Joan here all the way. Eating 5 or 6 smaller meals spaced out evenly will boost your metabolism and you will begin to lose weight like a fine tuned machine!

Thanks, I am going to try some of these things.
Five or six meals maybe difficult as I only get one lunch hour and not breaks.
What would one eat if they had five or six small meals?
Thanks Theressa

One of the biggest helps in my weightloss was keeping lots of healthy snacks around!!
And of course, a huge water bottle!!
Good luck!!
