Mindfulness can be such a powerful tool for self awareness.
I was having a few things being blocked and insecurity over some photography work that I do. I used to worry that my photos were not good enough and every job I did I would be waiting for complaints. It was awful. I carried that energy with me everywhere I went. So, it was no surprise when I got a star rating of 2 from one client after I did a photo shoot of their home. When I received the rating I started to laugh - that didn't used to be default response to criticism! I thought, it's no surprise I got this rating because that is what I was carrying around with me - not being good enough. I didn't accept the 2 rating within and had no sense of shame or feeling bad.
I contacted the agency that hired me to undertake the job and told them about the rating and said I was open to feedback. They took a look at the work and came back to me saying that the rating was not warranted and that my work was good and that they were removing it from my profile!
How amazing! I didn't own it, I received it as a reflection of my inner thoughts and it was taken away. Now I am really aware of my thoughts and the effects they can have. C
