LOL how is it meditation time already? I've barely woken up! Still, making great progress on the free ebook system. Feeling good about it.

Heading into my 10pm meditation time. Spent a few hours helping fellow authors with covers - I love doing that! Now to breathe. Ohhmmm.

Time for 10pm meditation! I'm reformatting 11 of my novels for Kindle and I'm getting sucked into my own stories. A good sign smile.

10pm #meditation time and I am just exhausted. My sleep schedule is flipped and I've been pushing myself hard to get various tasks done.

10pm meditation time. Contemplating the nature of helping others. There are many hurdles even with the best of intentions. #meditate

To preserve the helper's peace of mind, offer the suggestion, but do not insist or expect it will be followed. How many of us follow advice given to us?

Susan -

That is very wise advice.

In my case, I saw that an author had typos in their book. I asked if they'd want me to provide the list. They said yes. I started listing the typos and they got upset with me. They said I was not offering the list in a supportive manner.

Maybe because I use smilies to gentle the message? When I don't use smilies, some people read it as a "harsh teacher" being stern with them, so most people seem to appreciate the smiley style. But a few seem to read that as if I'm laughing at them or being condescending, which is not my intention.

I don't have any expectation of them changing or doing anything with the list. I only figure, if I see these issues, and it takes me two seconds to share them, that I might as well. To not share them when the author's sales and reputation might be impacted by them seems cold to me. Sort of like seeing someone walk by with their dress tucked into their underwear and not saying anything.

Lisa, sorry to hear you got that response. Maybe they were embarrassed about their mistakes and lashed out. I'm surprised they didn't use a spell check program.

Heading into 10pm meditation - finishing up polishing on my dystopian novella. Yes, another genre. I've always wanted to write this story. In the past when I had a scifi story demanding to be told I tried turning it into a medieval novel to stay with that existing genre series. It didn't work - my brain still wanted me to write the scifi version. So now I just let the stories out the way they want to be and don't worry about what genre the story is in.
