Rodelma -

Those are great life-long priorities! Priorities are the things that guide you through thick and thin, through quiet times and chaotic ones.

It's 2014 - the perfect time to take a fresh look at your priorities! Be sure to take a few long, deep breaths before you begin this. Close your eyes. Relax. You want to approach this from a calm center. That way you can best hear your inner voice and listen to it.

My priority list hangs by my desk, so I can look at it each morning and center myself It says:

~ help others directly
~ help others help themselves
~ be healthy
~ be serene
~ find the lesson in every day
~ organize my world
~ SMILE

I am pleased with this list. I have polished it over the years, and even looking at it fresh, it says exactly what I want it to say.

Remember, your priority list doesn't have specific goals in it. It's not about "lose 10 pounds" or "buy a bigger house". It is about overall life-long ways of viewing life. It's about the core concepts which are important to you. That way when you then go on to laying out goals, you know they are in line with your life's priorities.

When you have set your overall priorities, it's time to move on and to work on your long term goals!

Setting Long Term Goals

It's important to set the long term goals before you move on to short term goals. Otherwise you could easily fill your schedule with short term goals that don't move you toward the end result you actually want. Always know what wall to put the ladder against before you start climbing it! Otherwise you can spend all that time and energy climbing the ladder only to realize it didn't get you where you wanted to be.

Hi Lisa, I love the fact that even though your priority list has been "polished" over the years, it is still so timeless. Joy
