After all of our discussions on SciFi vs Fantasy, I decided to write an article on it.

You can find it here:
The Difference Between SciFi and Fantasy.

Let me know if you agree or disagree with my categories, or if you have some of your own!

Michelle,

I agree with your classification. While I am curious about "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," I'm cautious. First because the shows I like usually get cancelend and second because it's fantasy and not the genre I typically enjoy. I stay away from "The Lord of the Rings" franchise.

However I must say I am a HUGE fan of one the fantasy movies listed in the article-- "The Prestige." I'd say that is one of my all time favorites. But I think I enjoyed it so much because until the end I thought there was a "science" behind all of the tricks. Also I loved the revenge/competition angle. Fantatic movie all around!

Plus "The Prestige" had Hugh Jackman AND Christian Bale. Who can argue with that casting? laugh

Star Trek is Science Fiction
Star Wars is Science Fantasy or sometimes it is called a "Space Opera"

The best SciFi with real science in it is the 1971 film "The Andromeda Strain"
