My update: I am working on my new set of Five and One year goals and decided to start with revisiting priorities. I am going to write this out in my Life Binder tonite, too, but here is the list:

Stability, health/fitness, serenity, creativity, order, joy/fun.

I think these are still excellent priorities for me.

Great, then moving back up to the goal lists!

My priorities:
being satisfied that myself and family or on good, stable financial path
good relationships with my DH and kids, with kids emotional, educational, spiritual and physical needs being met
Doing work that I find fulfilling and lucrative enough to meet my other priorities.
Being healthy physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

Hi Jilly, did you write them out in your Life Binder? How's it going? Joy

Hi Lisa, that's a really comprehensive list! How have you prioritised them? Joy

What is really important in my life? Work is probably not what is really important. Your family, your friends, or something else is more important. If you are spending as much time as possible at work, time away from work, worrying about work, then you are making work your priority. It is time to turn the situation around.

Definitely it's important for the goals you set to be in line with the priorities you have. The priorities are at the very top of the heap! They are the guiding star.

Hey that would be cool, to make up some sort of a graphic that laid out the priorities at the top of a chart so people could see visually how they relate to each other! I'll work on that!

I am thinking about the different priorities in my life and what stage each of them are at...I have my teenage son and transitioning him into high school, my husband whom I am transitioning with into a new phase (been married over 20 years and together over 30 years), and then there is the community I live in (co-housing over 10 years) in transition from minority rule consensus to more fair governance, my spiritual life (daily meditation, contemplation, weekly Gurdjieff group, online teachings) feels full, and my work--writing, marketing, etc. It's a full life but loving the challenges and awesomeness of life:)

McBurch - that's great that you are enjoying your aspects of life and the changes that come with each new day!

I was thinking about that today with the hurricane. If the power went out. I was OK with that. If not, that was fine too. I was prepared to just take whatever came.

I forgot to post the link to the thread where I created a template for showing your priorities graphically. It is here -

Showing Priorities Graphically

This might be a help for visually-minded people!

I last reviewed my priorities in July, so it's a perfect time for a check-in!

They hand alongside my desk, so I see them every morning. They help remind me what to focus on.

They are:

~ help others directly
~ help others help themselves
~ be healthy
~ be serene
~ find the lesson in every day
~ organize my world

Remember that priorities are "higher" than specific tasks or goals. Priorities are the overall life-fulfilling theories that bring you joy.

In looking at that list, I think I want to add one more. "Smile". Sometimes I get so focused on helping people with serious issues that I forget there needs to be balance. So smile it is!

Have you guys reviewed your priorities recently? What do you think of the items on your list?
