It never fails. I log on to the internet, check my email, look at the latest news items, and sure enough, I'm bombarded with it. Every day, there is a new celebrity who is pregnant. Why is this even considered news? Who cares who is the latest with a "baby bump"? It just seems ridiculous. It's not just the "first-timers". Anytime a celebrity becomes pregnant, we all have to hear about it. It must be just me.

It annoys me as well. What I really don't like about it is that it projects an allure similar to a fashion statement. In and of itself, this is not a good image for teenage girls who feel that it is fashionable to have babies, as if they were an accessory to tote around and show people.

All in all, I think the media coverage cheapens the value of motherhood and shields the minds of young women from what it really is -- a very serious responsibility for another human life.

I agree with both of you. I've said it before, most of the reason celebs have children is because it's easier to get attention that way. Just think about that whole Justin Bieber baby scandal. It may be bad publicity for him, but it still gets his face recognized more widely. And some people will hear that name and boom, more people listening to his songs. Bad for the rep, good for the wallet as far as he's concerned.

I totally agree with you Beth, and everyone else here. It is annoying, ridiculous, and totally unnecessary to hear about it.

Thank you for bringing this up. I get so annoyed when a celebrity's baby bump or their little kid's new look is the top story. have they nothing else to report on?

I believe our culture has shifted somehow and now baby bumps considered to be fashionable or status symbols. look at what is on TV... teen mom, the duggars, kate plus 8. That is sending a really bad message to young girls. (as is the show sister-wives, but that is besides the point)

As a culture we spend way too much time focusing on stuff that only makes us stupider. If we have to talk about celebrities how, about we talk about how Natalie Portman went to Harvard not Beyonce's baby bump.

There is really more to life than just having kids. Really, there is. And if you believe that having babies is the end-all, be-all of life, than you aren't really living.

MAJOR LOL!! I just went to CNN's homepage and found a Q&A entitled "What should I do if my kid eats dog poop?" Nobody wants to talk about this part of child-rearing! But I guess the celebrity moms have nannies that are paid to deal with this...

It's because we cannot have actresses gain weight for any other reason. The actresses have to report it as soon as possible!!!
