I'm pretty worried about Pinky Pescado, I got him last spring. He had a bout of fin rot, and I wasn't aggressive enough treating it. So, I looked at him the other day and saw that his fin rot seems to have invaded his body. His fins didn't ever turn red, but they fell off in little bits and pieces. He was active, always ate, and didn't seem to be in distress. I put him in a hospital tank with salt and bettafix, and now there's some clearish stuff floating on the very end of his body, I can't tell if it's more of the growth or if his body is trying to regrow his fins. He seems in good spirits, is active in the little bowl and eats everything I give him (one or two pellets per day). He had some bloodred spots on the top of his head, and those are looking better.
I don't want to lose my Pinky boy! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I found this link to Betta Talk
http://www.bettatalk.com/betta_diseases.htm And though his fins aren't in as advanced a state as the photo shows in advanced fin rot, the black stuff on his body is bigger. Is anyone familiar with the medicine he recommends? I'm currently using salt, bettafix and clean water w/o gravel to try to get him better. Help!
