I just thought of one easy, satisfying way to help decrease frustration and stress that is also green! Collect your aluminum cans, and then put them aside until you need a stress venting session. Then stomp them all flat! It makes them so much easier for you to bring them to the recycler, and you've gotten out some built in stress.

Other ideas?

ha! I love it.

How about shredding newspaper? with your hands, of course.
Then you can use the shredded strips to make a paper mache vase.

Those are great ideas. Sometimes when I get stressed I clean out all the closets of clothes and toys and anything else we don't need then go take it to a goodwill bin. This works really well too and feels like you're getting rid of what you don't need both physically and mentally.

I did read one related kind of article on the Google and I liked one paragraph of it that says "If you change your thoughts you will change your life."

Monica I love the idea of cleaning the house to remove stress. It can definitely be energizing to finally get rid of old junk!

Today we tore down an old steel shed in our back yard which had caved in from the snow this past winter season. It was so wonderful to have that damaged shed all taken down! Now that steel goes to the recycling plant and we will put up a nice clean new shed!

LOL we still have the steel pile in the back yard smile I need to get that out of there before the snow comes! Hopefully next week sometime.

I think every decluttering project helps to reduce stress both while it's being done and also every day you have a cleaner environment to live in after that.

One thing that helps with stress and is earth friendly is to go shopping at thrift stores. It's not like shopping is the best thing to do, but if it helps decrease your stress, then buying used and keeping things out of the waste stream is better than a trip to the mall!

Dear Jilly -

Absolutely, if someone is going to buy then they should buy used!

We are actively trying to go in the other direction, to get rid of stuff. The steel left! Hurrah!

One thing that soothes me is my green research projects. Right now I am working on my experiments for solar panels and solar gadgets, turning urine into fertilizer, using compost tea, finding the lowest possible watt appliances, and writing for my Frugal Living topic. I am enjoying feeling flow moments more than I have in over a decade.
