Hello, since there is not as much traffic in the summer on the Knitting site, I've taken this opportunity to move articles and subjects around. I hope that articles and links are easier to find.

Do you find that knitters are more interested in knitting in the winter or do you think people are just generally not on the computer as much?

I always have a project going and need to start thinking about Christmas gifts. I can't knit for very long at a time since my wrists bother me so it takes me a while.

I knit all the time even in summer time. Although not as much, there is our vegetable garden to tend to, hay to cut and put up in the barn, fire wood to prepare for winter, seems like all summer chores are geared towards getting ready for winter. That said I like to sit on the deck during long evenings and knit my socks. Sock knitting is wonderful project for summer time. Sock is not a large project to cover your lap and make you hot.
Cheers to all and to wonderful warm summer!

In my experience people knit less in the summer because there are so many other choices available to them. That said, I was just at my knitting guild meeting this week and it was a big group and everyone was working on something. One of the local shops is having a Christmas in July sale, so it seems things might not be slowing down.

Plus, here at BellaOnline, visitor numbers are tracked (not individuals, just the number of vistors) and those number decrease by almost half in June, July and August.
