Saw this on the news the other day as well and my DH and I both went "Hurray"!! I don't have a problem with kids but I do not go out for dinner with the intention to listen to a child cry (overly, I understand that babies cry) or have a tantrum. If the child is well behaved, I'm fine with that. I agree with the restaurant owner, just because they are the centre of the parents world does not mean they have to be the centre of everyones world. If I am paying a pretty penny for a nice meal, I would like to enjoy it without a screaming child beside me.
The way I see it, it's like going to the movies. How annoying is it and how many people complain when adults chatter throughout the film. If it was a child, would it be okay? I don't think so. I wonder if the offended parents would be okay if a romantic dinner, just them and their Spouse, also included a crying child that was not theirs?
Well done, Mr. Vuick!! If I lived in your area, I would gladly pick your establishment for dinners out thanks to your new policy ... its the same reason why I more times than not book vacations at Adult Only resorts. :)
