This year, we got a wonderful camping cabin in a state park. It was quite reasonable. It lets us be close to nature, but not have to mess with a tent. Also, blessings when you are in the Midwest, the cabin has an air conditioner.

We thought of going to a hotel, but we so enjoy being close to nature. When our kids were younger, we spent 9 days camping out at Rocky Mountain National Park. That was a glorious time!

Now, that I'm getting a Senior Discount in more places, I just don't feel like hauling five gallon containers of water and tripping over tent ropes--which I'm prone to do. No pun intended on that prone comment! grin

The camping cabin is a good compromise.
