Don't forget the state parks, too! Decide how far you want to drive, and decide which states qualify. Then, check their websites.

This year, we got a wonderful camping cabin in a state park. It was quite reasonable. It lets us be close to nature, but not have to mess with a tent. Also, blessings when you are in the Midwest, the cabin has an air conditioner.
