I guess my life priorities would be health, financial stability and happiness right now. Some goals would be to quit smoking by end of year, have $100 in savings by end of year and not be behind on any bills, and yeah, thinking on the happiness one. I'm such a serious minded person and I need some joy in life!

I was looking again at my overall priorities in life -

OVERALL PRIORITIES
* Help Others Directly
* Help Others Help Themselves
* Be Healthy
* Be Serene
* Learn and Grow
* Organize my World

I am quite happy! I think I am making progress on all fronts!

It's good to review your priorities every few months and see how you're doing. How is everyone else doing with their priorities? Are they still the main focus in your world?

I am still thrilled with my priorities. I think about them every day and it is now a habit to ask myself if each new activity serves my priorities.

Eventually I will do more work with my goals but I am really taking the time to completely ponder these basics underlying everything else, first. smile

Dear Jill -

I think that is a great idea, to make sure that foundation is very stable. That way you know your energy is going in a good direction!

Once readers have settled on a priority list that - even just for now - suits what they want out of life, it is time to start thinking about long term goals that match that priority list!

Five Year Goals

Remember your priorities don't need to be "perfect"! They will be adjusted over time. It's fine to have a rough first draft to work with!

Hi Lisa, it's so true that "priorities don't need to be 'perfect'". The important thing is to decide what they are - they will get tweaked automatically as time goes by. (JOY)

After deciding what your priorities are, the next stage is sequencing, i.e., deciding in what order you are going to action things. This can be more difficult than it sounds! (JOY)

I don't really make plans or set goals simply because some things are just not meant to be no matter how much planning goes into it. Without forward planning there is no disappointment.

I am a very spontaneous person and I tend to do things on the spur of the moment. I let other people make all the plans then if it doesn't work out the way it was intended I don't have to worry or get upset. Makes my life so much easier.

I have no real interest in making money or owning many possessions. Maybe I should go and live in a cave!

My only priorities in life are to worship God every day and to be the best person I can be to myself and anyone else around me.
