How many times have you thought, Twitter is a waste of time? Before you disregard the thought of using Twitter, consider how Twitter might just help your career.

How to Use Twitter to Help Your Career

Does your company allow computer access to use social media such as Twitter?

I use Twitter!!! I've only been using it somewhat regularly for the last couple of months though. So, I think the key is patience and persistence LOL.

I do know lots of people who don't want to "mess with it." LOL. We ALL need to keep up with technology if we want to keep having customers.

i agree, Deanna - keeping up with technology is important. It's a hard sell in some work places because people do not want to change with the times...lol...

I used to have Twitter on my Writing For The Internet site homepage, but I got fed up with having to have so many different profiles, always signing in and out for different readers, family, work, travel updates etc - it soon becomes a time drain if you follow too many people too - good if you use it right though especially for a writing career:

So BellaShorts, what would you say is "using it right?" because I'd LOVE to do that laugh

My 9-5 doesn't allow me to use twitter, but I can say that Twitter has helped me launch my Publishing Company and has been invaluable to me as a Writer. I've met people, enter contracts, found resources, from all around the US, that I never would have been able to get without Twitter in such a short amount of time.

Hi Dianne,

I am still in the negative regarding twitter and the other networks. I do things the old fashioned way. I am still learning this process, and because of your connections I will work harder at understanding the network. When you get a chance stop by the site, I'd like to get your feedback on my latest article.

Dianne, That is a GREAT use of Twitter!!!

Ms. Tuculia - I was having a problem with the thought of it too, but I've learned that social networking is important - definitely for writers. Baby steps... it's ok. I'll be by, shortly...

@Tuculia @Dianne ~ Yes, it did take me a while. I've been on there since almost 2 years. It's about interacting with people and networking. I'll check out your article.
