I met someone [at a business meeting], and from the 1st moment I saw his face, I knew I loved him. I feel like I've loved him all my life. I feel like I've known him all my life. Driving home from that meeting, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.

Can this be real?

I don't know about love, but I do believe you can feel a very strong connection to someone you just laid eyes on. I've experienced it more than once myself, including with my husband. The moment I opened the door and saw him, I felt a strong attraction to him, and it wasn't primarily physical. His whole demeanor, his stance, his smile, just seemed to be sending out signals of kindness and warmth and caring, and that is a pretty accurate description of who he is. We've had our share of ups & downs over the last 20+ years, but that initial connection, made in less than a minute, has always remained.

If you felt something that strong with this person you just met, I wouldn't ignore it. It's certainly worth exploring, and you wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life wondering...

LOL Maria, that sounds like a "sexual attraction" - okay let me be good. But that is what the love at first sight use to be for me until I grew up. I had a MAJOR on my Math Teacher in high school.

I'm afraid of "loves at first sight." I had a bad experience a couple years ago. He was quite a bit older (yes, married) and I couldn't help myself. He was a complete gentleman and just swept me off my feet. We had so much fun. Very nice hotels, room service. flowers. You name it. I couldn't help myself, even though I knew it was wrong. Eventually, we broke it off because we both knew it would never work out. Still, I had a horrible empty place in my heart for a very long time. I still have the dress I wore on our first real date and I have not worn it since.

LOL, Kari N - yep, I know about those married men. I am now 52, but when I was younger and still believed in the knight in shining armor routine - I got a few of them (lol).

Now I can "sniff" them out 10 miles down the road = do not WASTE my time...

Wow, I don't know if you can fall in love at 1st sight.

If I know it is love 1st sight, he would have ask me for coffee and have good chats before I go further. If it is really love, we would have been dating and get married. It have to be me and you only. No 3rd party.

I haven't found one yet. Darn.
