Volunteering in between jobs is good for your resume as it fills in those "famous" blanks that future employers do not like (lol).

It also gives you a chance to gain some NEW skills.

I've been volunteering my entire professional career even while employed. I've interviewed alot of successful people who say that they learned as much while volunteering as with paid employment!

Volunteering is a great way to add new skills and keep old skills sharp, as well as doing something that makes you feel good. I think in times of unemployment, we really need something to help us keep a good outlook on life and on ourselves.

I have done different types of volunteering over the years including telephone helplines, working with homeless people and people with learning difficulties,teaching/tutoring, advising, administration, recruitment and selection - all have been useful and have added to my CV, skills and experience.

My ISSUE with volunteering when you have no income coming in - they do not OFFER to help out with gas (lol).

Sorry, but when it comes to MY household, I have to make sure ALL are fed - and that includes the man and 2 dogs. Yes, just inherited a 2nd dog smile

But when things get back to normal, YES - I LOVE volunteering smile
