Can't wait to see it! I've loved all the other Jesse Stone movies and I really like Tom Selleck too. It's good to see him in something.

I wish they'd do a series but Selleck probably doesn't want to be tied to doing one.

I'm thrilled that they are doing more of the Jesse Stone movies.

I do have a problem with watching a movie and reading the book, no matter which one comes first. Must be one or the other for me. Not sure why that is - it's just that seeing/reading one ruins it for enjoying the other.

Does anyone else have that problem?

[/quote] I usually read the book before seeing the movie - then cross my fingers and hope the filmmakers do the book justice. Think it was Stephen King who said the worst thing that can happen to a writer is to have his or her book made into a film, though that hasn't stopped him. lol Tom Selleck is not how I pictured Jesse Stone, so it took a while for me to get into that groove - but I'm okay with it now.

That is part of my problem - the characters they chose. When I read a book I have my own picture of what the character looks like. If the movie characters are too different from my picture of them, it distracts me from the story. Sad, but true.

I can't wait to see No Remorse!

I never could totally enjoy the Elizabeth George movies (Inspector Linley and Sgt. Havers)>>> The movie version of Havers was SO unlike how she was in the novels, that I was terribly distracted. I tried to get over my mental image, and tried to imagine that the actress wasn't a beauty, made "plain" and unkempt my not applying makeup and constantly wearing a huge jacket/coat. (I have seen the actress in other parts, and of course, she is not at all overweight and she is quite a beauty. I just cannot imagine why they miscast that part.)

My husband told me to just watch the Inspector Linley movies and not think of them as Elizabeth George mysteries. That actually helped!

I don't think those who are involved with casting understand how much readers get involved with the characters in books. I almost always have a picture of who I am reading about, and one of the main reasons I rarely watch a movie based on a book is because I'm afraid it will be spoiled by the actor - either their appearance or their portrayal.

I'm glad you husband could help give you a better perspective.

I fell asleep during last night's "No Remorse" and now I don't know if Jesse stuck with his claim that he was done talking to Jen! WHAT HAPPENED?! :)
