Sometimes those of us who join the military to 'see' the world, see a heck of a lot more than we expected to. Chalk it all up to experience, right?

One of my brothers is a Viet Nam Vet and I often have quiet conversations with him where he opens up a little more. After all these years, he still has times when he needs to just talk about some things quietly - it helps him a lot to have a good listener. That's all he needs at those times, someone to listen then let it go.

Phyllis,
It's pretty awesome that he trusts you enough to do that...and he's lucky to have you, too!

Thanks, Jeff. It is amaizing after what he had been through that he is such a loving husband, father and grandfather - and one of the best brothers ever!

I'm a very proud veteran - over 10 years combined active duty and reserve time in Air Force, Army National Guard and Naval Reserve. I am married to a wonderful man who is a proudly retired Marine/U.S. Army veteran with 28 years of service. My father served in World War 2 with Gen. Patton and my grandfather served in WW1.
