I have been watching this site and it appears that there are no veterans who subscribe. Am I wrong?

My late daddy was a veteran -- he retired from the army.

I tried to subscribe to your newsletter tonight a couple of times but it would not let me -- or maybe it was my computer.

Hi AngelasGems,

It appears that we are of different generations. I am a veteran of the Viet Nam era. Your father was in the Army. What war period was that from?

Hi Frank,

If my memory serves me well, wasn't there a short conflict in Lebanon prior to Viet Nam?

I seem to have some memories of talking to guys that were there. I believe it was during the 1950's.

Hello John, just cruisen thru and saw this site. For now I'll just keep my mouth shut and visit the site. Yes, there are vets out here, but, no sea stories today. Have a good 4th. By the way, do you know LT. Col Buc Coffman; he is a Mustang, Marine Corps retired?
This man was in Nam and also the frozen Chosin in Korea.

Hi Bob,

Buc Coffman doesn't ring a bell but if he is an old Mustang he has my hat off to him.

I wasn't in during the Korean War. Joined in 1959 and got out in 1969.

John. Buc was a career Marine and he also saw service in Viet-Nam. He told us a lot of sea stories most of which were very believable. His last days in the Corps was spent with a recon battelion and he finelly retired with a full disibility.
I had an uncle that was a diver during WW2 and three days after dropping the bomb in Nagasaki he was in that country disarming booby traps and trying to collect info before it could be destroyed.

Your uncle was a precursor to the Seals.
I have a white marble pedestal for his soul.
