While in the process of raising my thyroid levels (my tsh was 21) I had to have a root canal. My dentist prescribed Hydrocodone to help reduce my pain the night before my scheduled procedure. I hadn't had any pain reliever other than over the counter drugs prior to this. About one hour after taking the hydrocodone my heart rate was slowing down to 56 bpm and my blood pressure (which is normally low) skyrocked to 220/160. I felt total panic and couldn't calm down. Even after having my root canal the next day, I felt like I was having an adrenalin rush for the next two days. Has anyone else ever had a reaction like this?

I have never heard of this kind of reaction before but you should definitely inform your MD before ever taking the Hydro again. Destiny Max

Obviously you need more replacement with a TSH of 21, but does your dr. do a complete thyroid panel (free T4 and free T3) when you have labs or just TSH?
