I posted this in the paranormal forum but wanted to see what you all thought about this:

The other night, my son and I stayed up late, talking and watching tv. Our old dog lay nearby. Suddenly, his ears perked up and he stood up on alert. He took a few steps and cocked his head sideways. Now, this is an old dog who no longer cares about neighborhood cats or opposums or even the occasional door-to-door salesman.

But tonight, he jumped up and looked up the stairs. Then, his head moved as though his gaze were following someone walking around. All the while, his ears and fur were standing up. He was not afraid or aggressive. Just curious. And then, he walked to the front door and then lost interest. I opened the front door and he went out, sniffed around and came back.

I had a dog who once did the same thing when I lived in another house, but he was protective. He growled and barked loudly while "following" someone all the way out the door.

It was clear that my dog "saw" or sensed something. What or who? Later that night, I dreamt about my recently deceased uncle who told me that he "was back." He died but now he was positively gleeful that he somehow managed to "quietly walk back." He thinks he somehow is pulling the wool over someone's eyes by sneaking back to the physical world. I know he is concerned about his wife of over 50 years.

My daughter, whom he cared about, sleeps upstairs and I feel that he peeked in on her.

What do you think about this?

I've had a few dreams/visits from friends and relatives who have walked on. Each one is unique in a way and I always wake up realizing I was visited, and with a warm feeling. It's very pleasant and always makes me thankful.

Many years ago my husband was dream visited by his father. It was something I had been requesting for some time. It really freaked him out, until I asked one question. "When you woke up, what did you feel?" He then described feeling a wave of peace and calm flow throughout his body.

That sensation upon wakening is how I/we know the difference.

I agree. For interpreting most dreams, it matters how you feel when you wake up, or how the dream made you feel. I have been visited three times, by people who have died in my life. All the dreams were incredabley commforting, I didn't want then to stop. Usually an outside force stops the dream. I love dreams. Aurora22.
