I hear you. If students want to apply for a credit card, then as long as they have income to pay for it I think that they have the right to do it.
My concern is that sometimes these companies come on campus, set up nice displays, offer incentives and get students to sign up without a care about how they will pay for it.
They can get in over their heads and start things off after graduation having to deal with it.

That said, if any of you know of some companies that have good student credit card programs, then feel free to share them with all of us.
