Sue - excellent point you made above about not letting the bad rob us of the joy we can experience from the good! There will always be stressors to contend with. Great scripture quotes given as well! It's so true that when we give our problems to God and realize that He is in control, things just flow so much easier and with so much less worry.

Fun visiting your happy cloud today!! And thanks again for the tea! smile

Different Kind of Girl..... it is really a pleasure having conversation with you...it truly is...I love tea time with you!! I love to do this in our home too with my sweetie after a long day or when someone comes to visit.

There's something so nourishing about placing the kettle on the stove, filling the tea ball with a mixture of tea leaves, placing it in the teapot and awaiting the freshly warmed water to release the healing infusions of the teas to be sipped and shared together. Working through the days troubles invoking and inspiring our faith, lightening our hearts and spirit and watching the smiles form on our faces and brightness adding a shine to our eyes.

How such simple things can mean so very much smile

And Sharon, I agree with starting this thread smile Funny, when we start them, we really never quite know the direction that they'll take and sometimes, that direction, leads to a bunch of good places....thank you!

What keeps me an optimistic person:

1) Knowing that no matter what happens, it can be dealt with and one day the storm will clear the way for a beautiful rainbow.

2) No matter what kind of day it is...what person I meet and what they're like...there is always beauty in the day or the person that can be found and appreciated.

3) I never wasted time in life doing things that might hurt me or slow me down from being productive when I "got older"...so I am in an extremely blessed situation and am the only 20 year old I know whom is financially and emotionally stable.

4) I have the most beautiful person as a husband and because I am the stronger side of our partnership, being motivated, positive, loving, and practical is a must so I can keep his respect and teach him how to get a better grasp at life. I WANT to be all these things because I want to be strong for him.

5) I used to be a miserable person; all the small things mattered and if something didn't go right I was saying, in different terms, "Life sucks." But life wasn't any fun that way. laugh So when I figured out that optimism was a choice--although it needed to be worked at, a choice--I went for that and have never gone back. It's a lot more fun here. wink

Life is too gorgeous and too short to sit through it and mope. It sounds ridiculous, but my optimism is what keeps me optimistic. Anything else is drab compared to making life beautiful just because I'm here. smile

I love this forum. smile It's so darned happy and even though you can't see the people whom write in it in person, you guys shine right through your words.

I wish all the optimistic forums had more traffic. It tells you something that they don't. frown
