Lynne, Happy Birthday! easter You're almost an Easter baby! smile So, what are your plans for Easter Sunday?

Brenda, I've done that before...posted something big and then had it go bye-bye. Makes me so mad! mad Anyway, yes, I just rub some brown sugar on the ham and put it in a pan and cover it with foil. The brown sugar cooks off, so you really don't need to do it. I just like fiddling around with my food. grin After it's done cooking, I drain off as much ham juice as I can, leaving a small amount in the bottom, and then I pour the glaze all over it and put it back in the oven, minus the foil. I let it bake until the glaze starts to caramelize a little. (I should let you know that I turn up the heat on the oven to about 450 so that the glaze caramelizes quickly.) I save some of the glaze to spoon over the ham slices at the table. Gosh, girl, you're making me hungry now! I can hardly wait for tomorrow's dinner! Sounds like you had fun at your church's Easter egg hunt. What are you plans for tomorrow?

Laura, what are your plans for Easter Sunday, too? Hayley and I are going out to brunch with the boss and her family. She said there would be about 30 people there! shocked We won't have all the family here with us, so it will make it a more quiet Easter for us. I think it'll kind of be nice just having my mom & dad, my daughter and my niece here. Less noise and confusion! grin

Happy Easter everyone!

I hope you ladies have a good Easter. My daughter and her family (son-in-law and 2 grandaughters) and our son and grandson will be here for dinner after church. And I think another friend who will be alone tomorrow will be here for dinner too. I have a small ham and a roasted chicken, sweet potatoes, salsd, two vegetables, cranberry salad and what ever else I can think of tomorrow.

He is Risen!!!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love's redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where's thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

Hail the Lord of earth and heaven, Alleluia!
Praise to thee by both be given, Alleluia!
Thee we greet triumphant now, Alleluia!
Hail the Resurrection, thou, Alleluia!

King of glory, soul of bliss, Alleluia!
Everlasting life is this, Alleluia!
Thee to know, thy power to prove, Alleluia!
Thus to sing, and thus to love, Alleluia!

Happy Easter everyone!

Janis, thank you so much for posting your ham recipe. My ham is ok but it can be kicked up a level, for sure. wink How did your brunch go yesterday? Did you have fun?

Yesterday was a busy day around here. There was about 20 of us in SS. I did the resurrection eggs and then passed out treat bags at the end. I had such fun in there. It's a blast!

After worship service we came home and had our Easter feast. shocked We gave DD her basket (way too much candy in there... I put most of it in a box and have it stored away until the weekend!!) and then we had an egg hunt in the yard. The weather was awesome yesterday... not a cloud in the sky.

What did you guys do for Easter?

Laura, I hope you had a good Easter. What are you up to today? Are you on the wagon?

Lynne, what's on your agenda for the day? smile

Hi Brenda! smile Our ham was really good. However, let me tell you what happened because I know you'll laugh. I was so tired yesterday from getting up early and then eating way too much at the Easter brunch that I laid down to take a nap. Well, nap I did! I didn't bother putting the glaze on the ham! laugh I just spooned the glaze over the ham slices and it was really good just like that. So there you have it! One lazy cook + a plain cooked good ham + glaze = YUMMY! I've made a nice ham sandwich for work today!

Laura, how was your weekend? You've been quiet lately girlie, come out and play! laugh

Lynne, I love that song! I remember asking my mom when I was a kid if we'd be singing that song on Easter morning. I always look forward to it.

Well, I've got to get going. Only 3 more days left and from the look of things, they're not going to be jam packed! Yea!!!

Hello Ladies,
Sounds like your Easter was good. Ours was nice. Wour dinner was good. I'll be making enough deviled eggs to last for a couple of weeks. The granddaughters hunted Easter eggs (real) and I bought them for 25 cents each. They're getting older so I have to give them incentive. smile

I'll go to work later this afternoon. I think I will have chicken and sweet potatoes for lunch. My husband thinks I'm nuts - but I'll be happy.

Hey ladies. I am OP for the main part. I feel like I am overeating at supper time this week. I've had a case of the 'hungries' all week.

Janis, your lazy ham still sounds good to me. Yum. Tax season is almost over!!! I'm sure you're excited about that.

Laura, are you out 'tea partying'? We miss you in here.

Lynne, I made a lot of deviled eggs too. Actually, I made a lot of everything. I ended up freezing most of the cake I made. It was an Hawaiian Sunset cake, so it should freeze well.

Lynne, I'm glad to hear you had a nice Easter, too. I love the incentive you gave your granddaughters. That would make me hunt for all I could get! laugh That's too cute!

Brenda, I googled your Hawaiian Sunset Cake and if yours is similiar to the one I found, YUM!!! Would you mind sharing your recipe? Yes, I am so jazzed that tax season is nearly over. I made it through another one! laugh Today was just crazy. Unbelieveably crazy! Phone ringing off the hook, people coming in to pick up their returns, people coming in to get their taxes done. tired Tomorrow night, the boss is taking all of us out to dinner at a local steak house and it's going to be gooooood! I'm debating on either Prime Rib or a Rib Eye steak. It's a toss up!

Laura, where are you girlie? You need to get your fanny in here and play with us! That's an order, Missy!!!
