Brenda, at the bottom of your posting screen it says Switch to Full Reply Screen. Once there, you click on the little smilie faced guy to the left of all the bells and whistles. The Posting Icon smilies at the top are for marking your post with a certain tone. wink Good luck! Next time you post, I want to see some easter! grin

My dad loved O'Reilly's Bold Fresh something or other. He kept telling me I should read the book. Then again, my dad just loves O'Reilly and never misses him. He really does make a lot of sense! So does Glenn Beck. I really like him a lot!

I had a wonderful ham glaze that I made up myself, but thanks to my daughter and her prankster trick on me, all of my recipes have been zapped into oblivion! frown As I recall, I sauteed some diced onion and smashed garlic in butter and then added (1/2 cup) apricot jam, (one tablespoon) dijon mustard, (1/4 teaspoon) cloves, (1/3 cup) brown sugar, a splash of vinegar and maybe a little honey...and that's about all I can remember of it. (The measurements in the () are guesstimates, for your dining pleasure. grin )

Laura, sorry to hear you're still sick! You and Brenda must have something similar, huh? I've just been holding my breath that I wouldn't get sick and so far, I haven't. I'm so happy! Once tax season is over, I won't care as much. Have you tried the carne asada marinade yet? I think I'm going to make some of that marinade and use it on chicken. I think it might work pretty good with chicken. I was day dreaming just the other day and remembered Ina Garten making Tequila Lime Chicken. I tried her recipe but was not very impressed with the flavor of it. I never gave it much thought again until recently when I got to thinking about it. I would like to try making it again, but this time going by the beat of my own drum.

Here's what I was thinking...tequila, lime juice, a little vinegar, a splash or two of soy sauce or worchestershire sauce, a couple diced up jalapeno's, diced onions, minced garlic, a little chili powder, fresh ground pepper, kosher salt and maybe a teaspoon of brown sugar to off-set the tartness just a little. How does that sound? Once tax season is over with, I'll be eager to get busy in the kitchen again. I've run completely out of my hot sauce and I haven't made any in months. I bought the prettiest salsa bowl on-line and I can hardly wait to have a mexican feast and put my hot sauce in it.

I got off work early today since the boss didn't have a lot for me to do (she had other things going on today), so I went shopping. I found the cutest dress for Hayley along with the cutest shoes to go with it! She's in taking a shower right now and wants to try everything on after she's got herself all prettied up. lovers The boss invited Hayley and I for Easter brunch at a very nice restaurant in town, so I wanted her to have something nice to wear. She's got a lot of dresses, but they're mainly sun dresses.

Lynne, I cracked up when I read about one of your daughters friend locking herself in the bathroom. I guess it's a common thing with girls, huh? grin The drama has continued on since that party, too. My daughter was so upset at the way this girl acted and told her that she totally made her other friend feel like she was being talked about all night long. Of course, the other girl tried to blow that off by saying the other girl is just too sensitive. Another thing I didn't like that this girl kept doing was throwing french fries at the other girl. I told my daughter she better never do such a thing at anyone's house because that is just rude! There were about 5 french fries laying on the floor and I said pretty loudly, "Do not leave those french fries laying on the kitchen floor!" And this girl had the nerve to tell the other girl, the girl that she was throwing the fries at, to pick them up! eek

Are you writing a new article for this board? If so, let us know so we can go check it out. wink

Well, I think I've babbled on long enough here. I'm going to go get out of my clothes and put a mu mu on. I'm ready to relax! tired

Brenda, you are silly with all those posts! laugh I can't believe you are STILL sick! Like you said, it must be allergies. Be good to yourself my friend.

I haven't read Bold Fresh, but just the story behind the title cracks me up. (Bill goofing off in the back of the class and an exasperated nun saying to him, "William, you bold fresh piece of humanity!" Cracks me up everytime! laugh Part of that is because of how funny little boys are. The trouble they get themselves into is akin only to the trouble cats get themselves into. laugh

I am *almost* over this yuck! YAY! Still a little feverish, and my sinuses hurt, but not much coughing.

Janis, that marinade sounds good. I've decided not to use the marinade I have in the fridge. It smells wonderful, but has seperated, and it doesn't look very appetizing.

Could you give me the recipe so I could make some fresh?

That's what I actually find amuzing about Bill. He has that monstrous ego, but I think a lot of what he says is tongue in cheek, so, I really don't think his ego is all that monstrous. If that makes sense. smile

That's wonderful. How many kids do you have in your class?

I don't know if I'm going to a tea party of not. I forgot that I have a papsmear planned for that morning. DOH! I have to see if any of the parties in this area will be later in the afternoon.

Good morning! grin

Laura, glad you're starting to get over that junk. Yes, I will definitely get that recipe to you. I wouldn't use the marinade after this long. It might be alright, but how old is it? I think it was back in the summer when I sent it to you, wasn't it?

I don't have to go into work today until 10 and then after work, I'll be taking Hayley's darling dress and shoes back. She said the dress was an old lady dress! Can you imagine that? grin The dress was a little big for her, though, and ended up being a little too low cut. Maybe I'll try JC Penney's. They ought to have something nice.

Laura, last night, I laid down on my bed about 8 o'clock and promptly fell asleep! I didn't wake up until 12:30!!! Man, I was sawing logs! grin I feel great this morning since I was able to sleep in until 8.

Alright, I've got to get going, I hope all you ladies have yourselves a good day. I'll pop in later.

Hey girls. I am OP.

I am seriously stretched so thin right now, I might break. Too many things to do and too little time to do them in. crazy

Janis, thanks for the smilie help. I was a wee bit confused there. confused Your glaze sounds awesome. Sorry your recipe files are messed up. That's a bummer!

Laura, my SS class has anywhere from 15-25 kids. shocked It can get crazy! As for Bill O, he's surely not a Bold Fresh Piece of Humility. laugh

I want to tell you all something. I bought some clothes today from the regular size department. smile (I don't know the word for not Plus.) I got a size 16 jeans... still big, I know, but last year I was in the plus sizes. Miles to go, I know. Baby steps.

Brenda, that is awesome!!! What a good job you've done! I would love to fit into a pair of 16's. It's the pits being an emotional eater! frown

The apricot mustard glaze really is good. I put some brown sugar on the ham before I bake it and then once the ham is done, I spoon the glaze over it and stick it back in the oven until it starts to caramelize. Yum, yum, yum!!!

That's a big SS class! I don't think I could pull that off. I tip my hat to you, Brenda! cool

Alright, I've got to move out of the way now so my girl can get on the computer. I hope you all have had a very blessed Good Friday. Talk to you tomorrow.

Just stopping in very late on Friday. It's my birthday! I had a very nice birthday and we had a very moving Good Friday service at our church this evening.

I've written a couple book reviews that will be featured in the next couple of weeks and an article of my thoughts of Easter. The link is in another thread.

Good night now. I'll get back in here tomorrow and chat. smile

Girls, I seriously cannot remember what I posted and what I didn't at this point. crazy

Janis, did you just put brown sugar on the outside of the ham and then glaze it? Ham is not my specialty. (I'm still trying to find my specialty, I think. :D)

We had an egg hunt at our church today. It was fun. Lots of food. Kids everywhere.

Where is LKB? Get in here and post sumptin, girlie. laugh
