Wow! I didn't realize so many people had responded to my post! It been a while since I was last here and guess things got crazy after that.
I was just blowing off some steam that day and it helped to have a place to sound off.
Everyone here is so nice. Thank you for all your replies!

I find it amazing that 'friends' feel its OK to be so negative. I don't suppose for a moment they would register that their actions were bullying and aggressive. Staying away from these situations does seem one option. Even if someone does change their mind about their Child free status that does not detract from the fact that in the here and now someone has made a personal decision which should be valued.
The world is full of child free couples and singles who have made a valid life long choice. Live and let live.

I HATE baby showers. Id only go if it was a very close friend. If someone was rude to me Id leave or come right back with a comment. I find its almost never the expectant mom who is rude, my friends all except Im child free, but usually the older relatives.

I can remember going to baby showers when I was younger (cousins, etc.). What always made me insane is that, inevitably, the conversation would turn to birth. I REALLY didn't want to hear about placentas, or how many inches you dialated - it just grossed me OUT! And spare me the details of baby raising. Honestly, do you really want to be munching on guacamole when someone brings up poopy diapers??? So, I gave up on baby showers. Luckily I'm 45 now, and most people I hang out with are way past having kid, so invites are rare and easily declined.

Hi, I'm 27, and feeling the same way...really glad I signed up here. I can't believe that a friend would make jokes about another friends life decisions in mixed company.... Did you approach them afterward, I would have!
