Ever since I was small, I have been told that there was a great Polish actress called Helena Modrzejewska who made career in the USA. I have been always wondering how much others (outside of Poland) heard about her... is it a myth? story of an avarage actress who was just more popular on other continent than any other Polish actress?

No never heard of her but then looking at your article I can see why. Way way too long before my time. Maybe if one followed old theater but her son was a very famous engineer that helped to design some of our famous bridges. People may not even know his name but if you mention his bridges they would recognize them right away I'm sure.

But you're right:) I might sometimes feel old but she is as well way too long before MY time:) hihihi
