Depends on the hair color. Certain shampoos and conditioners have certain PH levels. You need to consult your stylist to find out the right type of shampoo for your hair.
In the spa I work at, we had to remove a product line from our shelves because it was too acidic for our hair color and it was stripping it from our clients hair.

Thanks Jase, how can you tell how much alcohol is in the product. (Stupid question I know...lol..) Should it be listed lower on the list of ingredients?
My daughter has locks (at her father's suggestion) She is thinking that she wants to not where her hair like that once she graduates high school. I always thought the only way to get rid of locks is to cut them out... What is the difference between locks and twists. Don't twists evenutally lock? Does hair grow as well with twists as they do with locks?
First let me apologize for taking so long to respond. Had my computer crash.
The questions you have asked here are good ones. I am not sure. I do know that locks and twists are respective to the type of up keep and maintenance performed on the hair.
Twist if done properly and taken cared of properly will not lock on you.
The other thing I would recommend is going to a some one who is an expert in that department of actually doing it and protecting your daughters hair.
I thank you for your post here and I am going to look into the difference between locks and twists. This is good information to know.
thanks for responding...and I totally understand about the computer thing. I kept mine in my room until my daughter crashed hers and needed one for school so I put my down the family room again...heavy sigh...lol... I look forward to any information that you might find. I actually started my daughters locks this time. (It's the second time she has had them). She started the upkeep on them after the first two months and actually does a really great job of caring for them. They started about 1/2 inch long a couple of years ago and are now down past her shoulders. She just didn't think they would be this much work and loc are a LOT of work.
