I feel left out now--like I should have some animals in my yard too. My cat brought in three different mice in oneweek. And two birds. And a monsterous size dragonfly sneaked inside my house and landed on the fireplace. I trapped myself in my bedroom until I got enough guts to throw shoes at it from the doorway. Hmmmm, I don't think that really compares. Now I just sound kind of crazy.

Rosie-that is so cute about your friendly squirrel. Good thing it hasn't met Michelle's! You should name him. Or her.

We are talking KamiKazi Squirrels, is honor to give life in battle against large hairless things that chop down trees.

It was really scary when I thought one of the mice was dead, but when my cat let go of it, it took off! eek!

Haha, how's Squiggels the Peeping Squirrel?

There is a new threat in town.

KamiKazi Squirrels are getting tired, and getting more worried about hoarding food than trying to cause big machines with wheels to go Crash - Boom!

But now the Migrating Geese are in town. And these guys are tough! They wander the college campus, walking boldly across the street in a pack (flock, whatever) and you just have to wait on them. If you try to gun the car to scare them off they just go "What, You lookin' at me? I Know you're not lookin' at me. I'm trying' to cross the street here!" And then flip you the wing.

I think they are all channeling Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. It is a Mafia of Geese!

Michelle, have you ever seen that commercial where the two squirrels are in the road and a car swerves to miss them then you hear a big crash and the squirrles stand up, giggle and give each other a "high five"? I do think there is a conspiracy abroad! These squirrel definitely have some intelligence on their side. Watch out for them and drive carefully!

We lost one of our KamiKazi Squirrels today. frown

When I drove by a while ago there were 5 of them doing ninja training together. I think they spotted me, though as they all stopped and stood completely still when I drove slowly by.

But when I came back I barely dodged one, (with Seth in the backseat screaming "KamiKazi Squirrel!")

But then I went a little farther and there was a fallen comrade on the road. cry

... and I thought I had it bad because the stupid garter snakes keep falling into my basement window wells to eat the even dumber frogs that jump down there and can't get out.

It wouldn't be so bad, but once the snakes get down there, my three Miniature Pinchers (MinPins) usually find them and go ballistic barking at them trying to keep them from coming out, which ticks off the snakes and makes it even harder for me to catch them to remove them and save my dogs from being bitten in the face.

Yes, I know garter's aren't poisonous, but an angry garter snake can bite the face of a small MinPin and do a lot of damage if they hit an eye or something...and my smallest one is only 4 lbs., so she could get a lot of damage from a 3-foot garter snake.

The Kami-Kaze squirrels stay far from our house because they don't like the window-well loving garter snakes or my three snake-happy-yappy MinPins. smile
