Hi Everyone!

Thanks for coming by! My name's Megan Romer and I'm the new New York editor here at BellaOnline.com. I do lots of freelance writing, but this is my first chance to write about travel - my favorite hobby!

Anyhow, I wanted to kick off a discussion, get some minds working and energy flowing over here.

Let's start with... what is your favorite New York small town? I have to say that my vote goes to the tiny town that I grew up in, Trumansburg. We have an enormous waterfall, great live music venues, a State Park, an adorable Main Street, a great school district... but only about 3,000 people (6,000 in the "greater metro area," so to speak). It's a great place to visit, live, and grow up!

What's your favorite?

Hi Megan...welcome...small town I have several. When I cam eto the US I lived in Dolgeville. Most won't recognize it but they might have heard of Daniel Greens where they made slippers. Still going strong but no longer thre. Then we moved to Little Falls (going up the Mohawk River) All I remember is lots of steep hills. Then most of my life lived in Utica....not much there but the best Italian food and pastries this side of Italy. A town close by was called Clinton. Reminded me of a Norman Rockwell kind of town. Now living close by to Canandaigua which is another similar town but more sofistitcated.

Yay for Trumansburg - my late husband and I lived in Johnson City and Binghamton. I used to live in Ithaca for a short time.

I was born in Watertown and raised in Henderson - right up there by Canada on Lake Ontario. Great for the spring and fall sights! The summer is spent on the water - either in a boat or being towed behind on skis. In the winter, make your second car a snowmobile and off you go!!!

Yay for Canandaigua - used to go to Roseland Park all the time.
