I picked Facebook, but it was hard! I already really like Twitter, but more peeps are on Facebook, and I like it's options.

Ditto for me -- I like Facebook best.

I do also love YouTube, Wikipedia and Craigslist, though.

I use so many of them. It was hard to choose, especially considering I use them for different reasons.

Yeah, it is meant to be hard, to make us think a little bit. I LOVE Twitter, but if I could only keep one, it would be FaceBook, myself. If you'd even asked me a month ago I would have said Twitter. But the reality is that on twitter it's just less personal. I have family, old friends, old classmates and people I am just closer to in general, on FaceBook.

others I like and use: Stumbleupon, Digg, Craigslist, Amazon (which i did not include but it still counts), LinkedIn, Yahoo Groups, Google Groups, Wikipedia, You Tube and Flickr.

There are a few I am thinking about getting into, just to see what is out there. I know I want to start using Delicious to get my bookmarks out into the "cloud" and off my vulnerable desktop.

Google has a new platform they are pushing - Orkut. Don't know if anyone uses it yet. In the UK, Bebo is huge. Friendster is big in Asia. There are just so many.

OH. And Friendfeed. Sheesh, I forgot that one.

I KNEW this was going to be a hard poll to make.

So, what do other people think they would choose, if they had to pick one, and please mention why.

I have a profile on Facebook. But I like the sites where I can share ideas and which have an opinion poll on social topics and current affairs like Economics, Taxes, election, etc.

I chose Facebook because my family and friends are there and I've resumed some old friendships, which is nice.

I was able to follow the birth of my 9th grandchild 5,000 miles away 2 weeks ago through entries and videos on Facebook.

I haven't used Facebook but I am in several ning networks and love them. I have an attraction marketing ning that I spend quite a bit of time on.

I'd heard that ning may start charging tho, which means most of the sites would have to become membership sites. Not sure how that would go over.

I have found more old friends and coworkers through myspace than any other site. In that aspect, it has been the best. I prefer facebook in that I can set up mobile settings with facebook and post pics from my phone while I am out and about, I can update my status while I am out, I can receive messages while I am out, etc. so for me, it is more mobile friendly than myspace. For actual blogging, I prefer multiply.com. It has plenty of security features to filter blog posts so you can decide who gets to read what and has many organizational features as well. I have a twitter account but found it to be mostly more annoying than enjoyable. I also use Live Journal but that is mostly just to keep up with friends there. My multiply blog automatically cross-posts to LJ and the settings at LJ automatically set any entries posted as friends only.

My kids have facebook and myspace so even if I decided I didn't have a need for them anymore, I would be on them just to be a presence there where my kids are.
