you sound like one of my clients yesterday. She was like I want to go to my shoulders.. then i cut her there after coloring and highlighting her hair and when I dried it and flat ironed it she was shocked. Then she was like, I cannot wait until it grows out again cause I love it long. I was like WTF you wanted it to your shoulders honey!

Sometimes I do miss my long curly hair though. I guess even after 5 months I still yearn for the long hair once again. But then again, this is so much easier to control with work and such and I am having fun with colors and such. I just bought hot pink to put in my bleached bangs. Will contrast the jet black I have in the res tof my hair now. I cannot wait until I get home to do that. Right now I am sitting in my car using the wireless at the universoty while I wait for myr oomie to get out of class LOL

I love having long hair but I also like donating it to cancer patients. So while it's hard on me I do cut it back every few years to send it off. I did that in Nov I think and now it's March and back down to just past my shoulders. In another few months I'll be happy with it again.

I do always intend for them to cut it shoulder length when I do these cuts - and pretty much every time they cut it much higher than that. I don't know what they're thinking smile I even deliberately grow it out so there is plenty of hair for the minimum donation length and still leave me with past-shoulder length for "me".

How about children and adults with Alopecia, there is a need for hair for them, doesn't hair grow back with cancer patience after chemo. both are good causes to donate your hair for

Lisa it sounds like your hair "grows like a weed". It takes me about 4 years to grow it my scapulas that's only if I don't cut it. I'm going through a regular sheering phase to keep everthing shaped nicely.

You're hair looks curly Lisa, could that have anything to do with it? I find curly hair always looks longer when it's wet and and combed straight for cutting than it does when it dries.

hair generally growns about 1/2 inch per month if it is healthy and well taken care of. I find it mostly grows between 1/4 - 1/2 inch a month. Mine.. grows like a weed. The shorter I have it the faster it grows.

Once hair gets to be about 6 inches, it tends to slow a bit.

Lisa,
It is very easy to cut curly hair shorter than you intend. - But the hairdresser should know that and make allowance for it.

Jase,
Have you noticed that hair grows faster during the months of August and September. (And maybe the end of July) My hair seems to and most of my clients come in to the salon with more growth than usual.
