Gregory - in a way it really becomes self evident that the people who are really happy for you *are* the ones you want in your life, because they are the ones who are supportive of you!

Once people have listed out their priorities, and feel comfortable with them, it's time to get specific goals onto a list, which fall in line with your priorities!

What are your goals for the next five years? Let us know so we can help!

Lets see if I can actually do this. FOCUS.

Ok Priorities

My Family
My Health
My Community

Those seem so big, but My family in terms of my daughter who still lives at home and my husband and his daughter... and my health, I need to lose weight and exercise and my community.. that really means the earth, trying to be more earth friendly and do my part in being kind to the earth.

I asked DH what his priorities were. He immediately started in on goals...heehee...then I said, "no, your priorities."

So he said:
1. health and fitness
2. more loving/intimate quality time with me
3. tons of creative freedom and artistic exploration

Number three is his big one, really. So he and I have similar priorities, which is cool. PLus he shamed me that I did not include love and quality time with him - which I should.

Lisa, yes, i do have these posted at my desk. I want to ask myself, or each thing I do, "does this further any of my priorities?"

Such a simple concept that has eluded me for so long!

Stephanie - big is good! Priorities are the overreaching main aspects of what you want to go for. That way your goals (the actual specific aims) can be pointed in the right direction.

I love those priorities, those seem wonderful to me smile

Being kind to the earth really is so important smile

Jill I think it's natural for MOST people when asked about priorities to start by thinking specific. And that's how a lot of people end up going awry, because they never thought about a larger sense first. It's part of what makes this such a powerful exercise, because you step back and really think about your life and where you want it to go.

Those are great priorities for him! That is really cool that he wants artistic exploration. It's really odd, but I wouldn't have thought that, from your previous posts! I would have guessed something more like "blogging expertise." Good for him!

In terms of not including a certain priority, it's hard enough to even think up priority items at first smile So we're bound to miss one! By reading each others entries it helps us remember what we might have forgotten and add them in smile

Yes, dan and I are both into art and creativity, just in different directions. He loves designing elegant code, unusual flex/flash applications and making cool zen wood furniture.

And we both enjoy photography, which you have seen in Mused. We both love to write. smile

My art is more decorating, painting, sculpting, mixed media, drawing...more free form stuff.

We both have a zillion thick, lovely art books and talk about art all the time. Sometimes we argue about art...the big difference between us is that i like to be synthetic (find commonalities) and he's analytic (find differences). It sounds like a small thing, but it's a huge gulf between us.
