I have voted Democratic for every presidential election since 1980. However, I don't know how I will vote in November. I am not even sure if I will cast a ballot for President in November. That is because I am so angry about the entire primary process in both parties, especially the Democratic Party, during this election process. The media made this election an Obama vs Clinton race several months before the Iowa caucus. All the other Democratic candidates never had a chance. They were deem irrelevant by the news media and political analysts from the very beginning. Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Richards and Edwards had no chance to compete against all of the massive free media coverage given to Obama and Clinton in the months leading up to Iowa. So, after Iowa was over nearly all of them had to drop out of the race, Edwards held on a little longer. Myself and 99% of America never got a chance to cast a ballot for any of these candidates. The race was fixed by how the media decided to cover the Democratic horse race from the beginning. Issues and ideas never mattered. All that mattered was the ratings of the "Woman vs the African-American" story. My first and even second choices for President never made it passed Iowa. As a result I could not vote for my candidate by the time my state held its primary. I feel rejected and left out of the process. Now, people want me to enthusiastically cheer for the last candidate standing. I don't know if I can do that. I believed so strongly in my choice, but I never got a chance to choose.

Craig58, that is how I, a Hoosier, always felt until this year. Previously the Indiana primary was a joke, it takes place in early May long after the frontrunners of both parties have been crowned. Until this year nobody gave a rat's a** who we wanted to vote for. Just knowing that our votes had some meaning at last, no matter that many candidates had already dropped out, was thrilling.
Obviously the primary process needs a major overhaul, and maybe if we all don't just forget about the agony, but pester the party leaders to make some big changes, they will realize that they MUST get busy and do something substantive before the next election.
I know that you feel bitter now, but please don't throw away your vote in the fall. Surely you will be able to find SOME things you agree with in one candidate or the other, and how can you complain about the result of the election if you have taken yourself out of the process?
I cherish my right to vote, and my equal right to bellyache to the winners when they do something I don't like.

Well, I wanted Mike Gravel, or Dennis Kucinich... so I don't know. I certainly will not vote Republican this year considering all that has occurred. I cannot see much difference on spending issues with Dem. vs Rep. but we really do need something different. I will vote for Obama, regardless of his running mate, over anyone who runs on the Republican Ticket this year.

I'm really a pessimist I guess when it comes to politics. Unless we do some really drastic changes nothing will really be different IMO.

Issues that I really am worried about

The Environment
The War
The Deficit although I am much less concerned with this than the average person probably but my reasoning is too long and off topic.
Insurance

So, with that said my vote will have to be Obama.
