Just my 2 cents worth, I agree some of the "abortion is murder" rants should be locked, and I am promising you not to respond to them again. I'm glad you did point out in you latest article the "higher ground". And also Thanks for taking this on, it really is an important subject for me.

Ok. I'm going to be removing some threads here, including a few that are based on very old issues (like I doubt we need to keep a conversation about where Bush and Kerry stand on pro-choice.) Is there anyone who wants to see the threads started by Curtis' Mom/Plumette removed as well? Also, do you want to keep the "What is pro-choice" thread, or start over? I would offer a third option of "cleaning" it, but it would take a great deal of time since it's so long.

I'm not a regular member of your forum (I've lurked on occasion) but I totally agree with Grey, Billie & Crochet Queen.

I'm about as Pro-Choice as you can get (NO restrictions) and it saddened me (maddened me, to be honest, but I'm not into confrontation) that I couldn't participate in the forum because of the trolls. I simply refuse to get snared into the "But it's a baby!" or "You are a murderer!" arguements. I get enough of that with my extended family.

I'll be sure to stop by in the next few days and check out your new look. Thank you for moderating such an important forum. Like Billie, I'll only vote for Pro-choice candidates.

Thanks for being so interested in doing what you can for this room to keep it less open to people who only seek to debate.

If the room were titled "Pro-Life / Pro-Choice Debate," then I'd understand allowing the "Abortion is murder" nonsense so as to allow all POVs. But this room isn't interested in the Pro-Life POV, as is obvious in its title, and I'm sure would much prefer to discuss comfortable topics within the Pro-Choice room in which we've decided to participate.

I'll be looking forward to more topics like I saw yesterday on what we can do to keep our choice legal, and I'll try to come up with additional ideas, too.

Liz - we recently added a banner to the married-no-kids forum and I think it really helped cut down on trolls. The banner makes it clear that the forum is to SUPPORT married no kids and that it is not valid to post negative sentiments about that area.

If you want to craft something similar for here, I'd be happy to add it in.

Liz - I added in a header and mid-thread note, just as we have in the married-no-kids area. Let me know if you'd like the wording adjusted at all. I think it should help out!

These forums are for supporting each other and expressing feelings and seeking advice. They are not meant for you or anyone to come in and bash people for their choices or lifestyle.

If it bothers you, then stay out of them. If you cannot offer advice, support or whatever, then you do not need to be in the forums that you despise so much.

What do you think you are going to accomplish by spewing negativity and bashing people? "Oh Texas Dave said I need to not have an abortion by bashing my personal choices so I guess I won't have one then. Thanks Dave."

That's not going to happen. It is only going to cause animosity and is going to get you banned again. You want to speak as a pro-lifer, then go into the pro-life forum and have at it. You do not see any other pro-lifers coming in here and spewing the garbage that you do. Why is that?
