What sort of morons believe that the purpose of love is to have a baby?

What about couples that are infertile? Or that meet after menopause? Nope, none of them could possibly have "real" love. ::rolls eyes::

oh and what about the evil people who dont want to have kids they cant possibly feel love! (note sarcazism!)
What about the people who love everyone so much that they have kid after kid and have no idea who the dad is because they love everyone equally? I am sure that they know more about "love" then I will ever know...of course they know more about goverment benifits, STDs and Child protective services then I will ever know about either!

I guess that makes them smarter know it alls them me dont it?!!!

You cannot separate sex from babies? I beg to differ. I have been doing that for 30+ years, and plan to continue.

*When you separate sex from love, babies and marriage, you get prostitution. Sex without love is meaningless.

- Subjective and I thought prostitution was paying for sex.. the act of giving over money or other material posessions for sex? So when two people have sex, without love and agenda of babies or marriage surely you have, er.. 2 people having sex? and if they are 2 consenting adults.. what business is it of anyone elses?

*When you separate sex and babies from love and marriage, you get unwed, teenage mothers.

-DING DING DING... what about teenage Fathers? what about, oh wait.. no... the boys can't be blamed.. it's always the women (who thinks this might be a bloke writing this?) Also.. birth control anyone? no? obviously all teenagers MUST be thick... regardless of me, who lost their viginity at 15 and who was very sensible, always used appropriate birth control and had a very cool and switched on Mother who let me make my own decisions and talked to me about safe sex.. everyone else must be dumb...

*This creates problems for the mother, the child and the people who end up supporting the mother because she cannot support herself.
- Riiight, as the Father is where? scarpered? Also, who says Mothers can't support themselves? yes, a lot do live on benefits.. however not all.. and I think stereotyping them is disgusting..

*When you separate sex and love from babies and marriage, you get premarital sex, recreational sex and people living together. None of this seems bad on the surface, and many teenagers you ask will say, "Go for it!" Find a person, fall in love and have sex. Adults would say there are reasons to wait, and we will talk about them in Chapter 12 and Chapter 13.

- Gosh, well.. ya see.. I'm an adult.. having pre-marital sex and I don't think there are any reasons to wait as I don't want to get married... so yes.. I would say 'Go for it'... Life is too short for morons and idiots to push their hypocritical and stupid views on others..

For me there is no "pre marital", since I don't ever plan on getting married. (at least not a religious service, I WOULD like to have certain legal rights. But I bet the people writing that article wouldn't count a non-religious ceremony a "real" wedding, since they're obviously religious crackpots)

According to that list, it is far more important for teenagers to know about babies and marriage, than sexually transmitted diseases.

Riiiiggght. There's some screwed up s**t right there. Why do I detect an underlying whiff of "fundy" in this article?

DLEE67 - love the thought! I think most of us would agree!!

I think that author is a whack-job. I just don't agree with the information he's feeding teens (it's a teen article) and the way he presents it. It's almost like he's encouraging thoughts about humping by saying "It's okay to have them, it's normal," then saying those associated actions/results of those thoughts should be reserved only for love and sex, which should only be inside of a marriage. How unrealistic.

On his behalf, I do understand his saying (especially to teens)that the purpose of sex is to have babies...I mean, that essentially IS the primary purpose of sex, be it in animals or humans, just like the primary purpose of breasts is to feed your offspring. Some people, especially those planning out a life without children, engage in sexual intercourse for strictly pleasure purposes and look at breasts as nothing but anatomical female beauty. But I question whether or not that POV is appropriate to present to children. Then again, I have a problem with information being presented surfacing only one side, too.

Meh...I just think it was a poorly written article all the way around.
