i can understand women who want to work part-time but to be a SAHM i think esp. nowadays is such a risky thing to do. with the high divorce rate and the economy being the way it is plus not to have a t least some financial independence well at least for me i wouldn't like that. i work part-time for the time being partly b/c of my history of anxiety plus my DH has a job now where he travels sometimes a lot. however, god forbid something would happen to my DH i know that at least i could support myself b/c i've still stayed in my field. for women who have stayed home for a while i can't even imagine how that would be.

I feel the same way. Plus, at least if something happened and I was on my own in the world, I would only have myself to support, and not extra people. I wonder if CF people have a "cautious gene" or something that makes us more sensitive to risk, or stress.

What's the problem with SAHMs? Aren't they good for society? Raising loved children, following their bliss, that sort of thing? Would time off cause sil to grow so out of touch with library sciences that she'd never again be able to work? Why does everyone assume her husband is a ticking out-of-work bomb? Why are SAHMs being 'in the works' considered something post-worthy? Is a mother allowed to ask these questions?

Frieda- about the 'cautious gene,' I was just thinking that myself the other day. It seems that the personality of people on this board seem quite similar in many ways, including that most of us seem to be people who like to think things out.

I don't know how I feel about parents in the workplace. On one hand, SAHM's are definately putting themselves at risk when they leave the workplace. On the other hand, when people have kids I think it's necessary for one of the parents to have to let their career fail, since they're will always be times when they have to come in late or leave early if their kids are sick or need them. Either way, the employer is screwed, but having kids is sort of necessary to our society.

I don't even know what CFBC is...but I do know that "women" is spelled with an E. (You keep doing that.)

Try entering "True Mom Confession" into the search tool for this forum---why so many posts and lurking about that?

Is that all you care about...is correcting my spelling?

Maybe if you don't understand what it means, then you don't belong on the site? CFBC=CHILD FREE BY CHOICE. YOu do know what CF stands for don't ya? That right there should tell you that you are on the wrong site! CHILD FREE.

What kind of person comes onto a CF site and debates with people that are happy in how they are living? Are you trying to see how the other better live? Seriously, this is strange.

Well, I had a little bio in another thread that you posted in.

I don't only care about correcting your spelling, Jzel. It does seem curious that someone with kids is being called out for checking out this site when there are countless threads about True Mom Confessions. This forum is loaded with hypocrisy

You are not respectful. You are here to judge and that is very obvious. I did report you. I usually don't let people like you bother me..but I am sick of it. If this wasn't a site for the CF then I would just ignore you..but this is a CF site. Go post your hostility about CF people on your mommy boards!

3. Please think before you post. The MNK Forum is NOT a site for parent and family bashing. Repeatedly attacking families and children ONLY REINFORCES A NEGATIVE OPINION ABOUT THE CHILD FREE COMMUNITY. Yes, you can speak your mind about being childfree, but if you prefer to gravitate toward negativity in most of your posts, this forum is not for you. There are many other "anti-child" sites to post on, and I do not want my site to be one of those.

I could report the majority of this board!
