I wasn't planning on using shrink wrap, but wax paper. what is the best material to wrap soap in other than shrink wrap?

Hi JoAnn:
It depends on what kind of soap you are wrapping. I like to wrap melt and pour soap in shrinkwrap. If I am not wrapping it in shrinkwrap then I need to package the soap so that it does not dryout. I like to use clear plastic boxes for melt and pour soaps or nice rice paper translucent bags.

For cold process soap I make the cigarbands for the soap or a soapwrap which is essentially a sheet of paper with designs and you wrap the whole soap instead of just the sides as in a cigarband. In addition, I use kraft paper (looks great with handwritten label done in gold ink), ricepaper, vellum(really stylish looking with printed label).

Here is a list of articles and links to find some of the materials you need:

I like to use scrapbook paper sheets, wrapping tissue, and corrugated paper For my cp soaps, and tie with raffia. I also just use pretty wrapping paper and pieces of cloth material.

I agree. Fancy paper and tissue paper works well. Dress it up with a ribbon or raffia. You have to be careful with paper though. It can't be too thick or it won't work.
