It depends on what kind of soap you are wrapping. I like to wrap melt and pour soap in shrinkwrap. If I am not wrapping it in shrinkwrap then I need to package the soap so that it does not dryout. I like to use clear plastic boxes for melt and pour soaps or nice rice paper translucent bags.
For cold process soap I make the cigarbands for the soap or a soapwrap which is essentially a sheet of paper with designs and you wrap the whole soap instead of just the sides as in a cigarband. In addition, I use kraft paper (looks great with handwritten label done in gold ink), ricepaper, vellum(really stylish looking with printed label).
