Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain "Big Anny" yarn by Anny Blatt?

A friend knitted a lovely coat in the "Big Anny" yarn years ago and now it is falling to pieces. She would love to knit another but can't get the yarn here in the UK.

Would anyone know of an alternative please?

Many thanks

What is the yarn like in terms of texture and style and what gauge does it knit to in stocking stitch?

I've e-mailed the Anny Blatt web site so we'll see what they say.

Hi

The yarn is thick and bobbly and knitted on US size 13 (9mm) needles. I understand that the yarn is discontinued but my friend is wanting to know if there is an equivelent yarn she could use.

Many thanks

As I said I have e-mailed the Anny Blatt web site and I am awaiting their response. You might like to try www.yarndex.com which lists all the yarns currently available from the different makers.

Unfortunately all that Anny Blatt have said so far is that the yarn is no longer available - which we already knew. I can only suggest advertising on the knitting forums like this one, and watching eBay.

Thank you for your suggestions. Now that my friend has finished her degree she is wanting to knit another coat. She knows that the Anny Blatt "Big Anny" yarn is not available but is looking for a similar yarn knitted on size 13/ 00/ 9mm needles. Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

What is the gauge, or stitches per 10 cm?
