Hilarious. Actually, breastfeeding babies would probably love a Hooters flight! But wait...they get that anyway.

I remember there was an attempt to form "Hooters Air" along similar lines, but I don't know if that ever got off the ground. That probably wouldn't be too family-friendly.
Very punny...

One of the guys in the CF Meetup I organize flies on business a lot. He has a new idea for a business: Drunken Bastard airlines. Essentially, the planes would be "flying bars", and there would be drinks constantly served throughout the flight. Best of all, nobody --- that's NOBODY --- under 21 would be allowed on any flight. He has a hunch that every seat would sell out, immediately. I think he might be right, too! Does anyone know any venture capitalists? this actually doesn't sound like a terrible idea... I know even parents on a romantic getaway or just about ANYONE on a long flight would appreciate a quiet flight. If they also make it fun with a bit of booze and a good atmosphere, I do think they'd be on to something

Hmmmmm ... drunks or babies. That's a tough call. I've played bars for years and have grown to hate hardcore drunks, but shrieking babies make my hair stand on end and give me the urge to throw things. I'd have to go with neither.

I know even parents on a romantic getaway or just about ANYONE on a long flight would appreciate a quiet flight. We flew last weekend, and I got stuck in the row behind three people who talked through the *entire* flight. So I don't know that adults guarantee a quiet flight. They were really loud, and at one point I leaned forward to ask them if they could keep it down a little bit. They were talking so loudly that they couldn't hear me. I know that we all have rights, but my sleeping on the plane doesn't bother other people. But people that talk loudly like they are the only people on the plane are SO annoying. From what I see, it seems like most people like to read or sleep on the plane. I would have asked to have my seat moved if there were any empty seats, but there weren't. Grrr. Sorry for the rant. If it happens again, I will definitely say something, and make sure I am heard.

This is the kind of situation where BOSE Noise Cancelling Headsets come in handy. I haven't invested in any myself yet, but I know frequent travelers who LOVE theirs, it blocks out all airplane noise, including annoying fellow passengers. I've had the opportunity to use them on a plane and they're great. (No, I don't work for BOSE, hee!) It's also a good way to let a talkative seatmate know that you're not interested in talking, in a polite way, when you put on your headset and close your eyes! Good call! I've been wanting to get them for the office, because I know a lot of writers use them to block out sound. I will take my ipod and put it on, even if the music isn't on. But at least music is something you can sleep to.

Here's an idea....
I recently took a 4-hour train ride on Amtrak. Before my trip, a friend told me about Amtrak's Library Car, a designated quiet car on the train where cell phones, beeping video games, loud talking and of course screaming kids are forbidden. No doubt the Library Car was invented because trains today are filled with annoying people yammering away on cell phones. Anyway, on this trip I made sure to get a seat in the Library Car, and it was bliss - I listened to my ipod, did some reading and thoroughly enjoyed myself. So, I was thinking.... wouldn't it be great if airlines did something like this? It wouldn't necessarily be anti-kid, just pro-quiet. A Library Section, a Library Flight, or perhaps Library Airlines? Their slogan could be Shhhhhhhhh.
