Linda, if you come down the coastline, give me a shout. I know a place that is SO warm, comforting, inviting and FULL of loving people that you will not believe they are the same people that you are calling Christians. We learn about social justice, accepting people as they are, helping those less fortunate, loving our neighbors, and love, love, love.... They are nothing like a few of the ones that post, repeatedly, their kind of Christian "love" on here.

It is really New Age, and radio stations even talk about us because we are so revolutionary.

I am a Christian and I believe that God loves all of us and wants us to be good. I've said before that I believe that all we have to do is be "Christ-like" and follow the commandments. I have heard of (and even know a few) people who have been away from church for awhile and when they went back, they became "born again Chrisians". I think that ya'll call them "fundamentalists". Basically, my husband refers to them as "fanatics" because they go overboard trying to SAVE everyone, using scriptures and being pushy.
Personally, I think that we have hell on earth and each of us has experienced it whenever something out of the ordinary goes very wrong. People, all the time, say exclamations of anger such as "go to hell" , sh_t, dam_,*%#$!, biotch, son-of-a-b___, you get the message... anyway, for someone from a church to say that to me, I would have to go "tsk, tsk, tsk" and tell them to watch their naughty language! If indeed it bothers any of you that someone is saying that phrase to you as though it means something to you, then I have to wonder why you hold special meaning to it as a place or an eternity? (sorry, THAT'S a long sentence!)
Good people go to heaven for an ETERNITY, but in the case of being reincarnated, which we don't really know if that happens, the soul might just be recycled. In that case, it really wouldn't be for an eternity. If, however, a person didn't go to heaven, then I guess they couldn't be reincarnated. I'm just not sure if it really happens but sometimes I do have "deja vu" or feeling it's happened before. I am a spiritual person but I also believe in being "Christ-like" and following John 3:16. I am a good person and believe what that verse tells me. I don't need any specific religion or religious person telling me what to do, because I am saved.
I am so, SO sorry that someone would tell any of you that "you are going to hell". The only thing I was taught as a young Christian was to "share" the plan of salvation, which is simple: John 3:16. I know that all of you have been to churches, know what bibles are and have had people tell you what to do. I think adults can make up their own minds if they have simple choices and no pressure. I prefer to quickly tell you have to be saved: John 3:16. That's simple. You already have all the good qualities, sharing, compassion.

God bless you!
quote Jesusfreak " There is a hell and it is real. It is love to warn about it and hateful to stand by and watch sinners go into it. The lake of fire was created for the devil and his angels, not for us. We don't have to go there but God is righteous and must always keep His Word. So, all those who rebel against God will join the devil and his angels. But Jesus Christ is God's mercy. Repent, accept His death in place of your own, and follow His commandments and you will not go there. "
Jesusfeak, are you a born-again Christian? The ones I have known became very literal bible readers and writers. God is LOVE, which is why he sent His son. God is also merciful, which is why He forgives us!
freebubbles, my words of kindness are "cheerful comments coming collectively together creating sweet and caring thoughts for beautiful and thoughtful people who enjoy each other's company and dialogue!"
