I got bashed big time at a witches' lunch meeting thing. Like an idiot I told the group I used Jesus' image as the Lord on my altar because I grew up with him and loved everything he represented even though I do use some greek archetypes to micro focus my prayers and requests.

lol omg you would have thought I stood on the table and sang onward Christian soldier! I don't consider myself a christian as I don't believe as the christians do but you just can't not like Christ. Man, he rocked.

The only person who was not uncomfortable with it was a Wiccan priestess who was sitting next to me! Her only issue, as she put it, "Why don't you like to call yourself Wiccan?" She asked "What do you have against Wiccans? You sound pretty Wiccan to me."

I don't have anything against wiccans. I just don't want to misrepresent myself and Wiccans can be just as brutal as christians about who is "real" and who is not and I don't feel the need to justify my beliefs or status in my religious beliefs. So, for now, I'm just a witch who worships the God and the Goddess in whatever name I choose to assign them. lol I just don't discuss it in public anymore.

Anyway, I completely understand where the Christian witch was coming from. She's obviously studied to show herself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I wish her well.

I was raised by a father that was a devout, spiritual Christian and a mother that followed the Craft. They honored each others beliefs and paths. So the outcome of that union was me, a Christian Witch. I have always seen the Holy Spirit as the Mother/Goddess, through which all miracles and magic comes. I have never been one to pass judgement on anyone else's path, if it fits for you it is right for you. I know that people feel that my path is a oxymoron, it is not their path, it is mine and it fits me well. So please before you pass judgement on someones path, think about how the world has viewed us as women, witches, healers, ect. How we have been persecuted for what we innately are and the harm that this has done. I feel that any spiritual path is first, Do no Harm. I have found very few that understand how I can blend the two.

I was thinking that maybe someone in the Coven or someone in her past may have critized her beliefs so she just takes a defensive stants with everyone!!! I know when it comes to religion people tend to have a my way or the highway way of thinking. some even have a Im better then you additude also.

I have been critized more then once by people who belief the way I do so I just keep it to my self so I dont offend or get into a big fight over it. she may be the same way!

just a thought

Jesus said we cannot serve two masters. So, there are no Christian witches. Especially since the Bible says specifically that those who practice witchcraft have their place in the lake of fire.

Thank you Linda! I have taught that in a class for years. (I taught Roman culture and of course, all about ancient Rome).
Interestingly enough, so many Pagan gods and goddesses have found their way into Christianity except now they are called saints.
The title Pope comes from the Pontifex Maximus, a man who was the highest of priests in the ancient Roman religions. Julius Caesar himself was Pontifex Maximus. So the Catholic Church did borrow that one too. And the clerical clothing of the modern clergy, hats and all, are copied from the Holy Robes of the ancient Roman priests and priestesses.

And about Jesus? Him I love, his message and his rebelliousness.I don't view him as the Christians do, though.

Christians believe in Jesus the way Jesus said to believe in Him. All those who disagree with Jesus do not serve Him.

So you say, but that is not what I believe.

Many historians believe that the Bible was skewed to whomever translated it or that powerful clerics changed it to fit their own ideas.

You do Jesus an injustice.
