It's readers vs travel agents - who's got the best budget travel instincts?

Here's another budget travel challenge!

What's the best deal you can get for a 2-week apartment in Paris for a single woman?

Should be centrally located and in a place where a woman can feel safe walking alone by day or evening.

Needs to have fridge and stove top for own cooking; prefer near a food store.

Laundry facilities nearby would be a bonus.

To start in last week of April.

Ready, set GO!

Jill -
I missed the deadline, but the best value for an apartment in Paris has got to be found on VRBO.com. I use this site for all my apt and condo rentals. The best part is, you can usually negotiate on the final price.

Thank you Shannon!

You win the everlasting fame and glory for the Paris competition ;-)

Anyone who wants to add to Shannon's suggestion - either a comment on it, or a new one of your own - jump right in.

This is a great time to be planning European vacations. The early spring flight deals are on (from North America). Speaking as someone from a northern place, I find the weather in Paris lovely in May, and the crowds not too bad at all.

Thanks again, Shannon.

Happy travels all,

Jill

As a follow up, the VRBO recommendation was very good.

I've passed it along to a few people - none have taken their trips yet but everyone is impressed with the listings.

THANKS,

jill
