Hi! I'm from Central PA and just subscribed to the newsletter. I've been crocheting about 17 years, primarily doilies and thread crochet. For some reason I never do as well with yarn. I'd like to learn how to do apparel, more than just scarves. I look forward to getting to know all of you and also learning!
Marie

Katrinka -

I've seen some beautiful shells and tank top patterns in thread crochet. Every spring I say this is the year I'm going to make one, but I never seem to get to it. Since I'm embroidering a wedding sampler for my brother this year, I don't think this is my year either!

Hello!
My name is Dora Renee' Wilkerson. I have many hobbies but I am pretty much a boring person (I was reading some of the post before mine and boy you gals are from all over the world. That is so neat... I am in good old Ohio.)
Let's see I have two wonderful children, four horses, 2 English Angora's, one hermit crab, soon a few goats, and one husband (as most of you I am sure will agree...One husband is more then enough..lol..)
I love to do little crafts with my children. We don't do anything fancy but it's time well spent at least in my eyes (hopefully they will see it that way later in life.)
Well that's me. I do have a blog and your more then welcome to see it atBellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!

Hi, I'm Barbara from San Francisco. I started crocheting back in early 80's when a coworker showed me a couple of basic stitchs...like chain and sc which I could us to make baby blankets etc. I never really got into it until now (well I'm trying to). I can remember my great grandmother & grandmother crocheting dollies and such all the time. One thing my greatgrandmother use to do was the edging on pillow slips, which is what I am doing now with very limited success. I came in hoping to find an answer and saw this wonderful group.
I definitely will come back in.

My name is Athena and I live in Connecticut USA. I am a mother of four girls and one boy. I am also a Special Education teachers aide. I am in the process of opening my own business and in my spare time I crochet. I started when I was 10. I love working with thread. Have an obsession with pineapple doilies. I enjoy meeting fellow crocheters and exchanging patterns. I am signed up to take knitting classes. I would love to learns tatting but I think I am starting to drive my husband crazy with all of my crochet books. Feel free to email me if you want. I love meeting new friends that I have a common interest with. smile

Hi, I am Dee! I live in a western suburb of Chicago, many years divorced mother to a 32 year old daughter, 30 year old son and two fur babies. I have been crocheting on and off for more than 30 years. I have gotten back into it with crocheting blankets for the local hospitals neo-natal intensive care unit. I am happy to be here to share ideas and patterns.

My name is Mary, but I go by MaryJeanne since there are so many Marys out in web land.

I am a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I have my own four children plus additional ones that took me as mom.

I work part time in bookkeeping, and I love to craft.

I learned to needle knit from my aunt in my early teens, then self taught myself to crochet, macrame, chair braid, cross stitch, and plastic canvas. Then the internet came along to help me further my skills in tunisian, broomstick lace, and hairpin lace.

Along with these new skills people from the internet helped me learn to needle tat and then to do shuttle work. I am now doing loom knitting on single and double rakes and that has been taking most of my time for the last couple of years. I use my crochet and needle knitting skills to add to the loom knitted pieces I make.
