OK, here's my 2 cents. I regularly visit crochet blogs listed at the yarntomato site, and other crochet and craft blogs around the net. i've picked up some really neat patterns, and learned a few things too. what i am really sick and tired of, is having to weed through some one's personal political opinions to get to the crochet, one blog owner listed there loves to sprinkle her blog with foul language (and i mean really foul language). I emailed Donna (yarntomato) and asked her if she has any guidelines on foul language in blogs that she lists on her site. i think a "crochet/craft blog" should be just that. there are plenty of places for pundits, spin doctors, and arm-chair warriors to have their say, and their 15 minutes of fame. i'm getting tired of reading that i must be a moron, i'm afraid, or uninformed because of the candidate that I may have voted for, being grouped with all the others who supported the same candidate that I did. yes, one 'crochet' blogger actually says that. we're all "morons", to borrow her word. all I want is a new pattern or two, or read how others are getting on with their projects. in a subtle way, its taking advantage of the situation. they get us there for the crochet, only to project their political opinions on us, and insult our intellegence in the process. Of course, once i encounter this i never go back to that blog. but it seems like nearly every one i've visited in the last few days has had the same subject matter, and very little of it is crochet. i respect all opinions, and i would never call everybody on the oposing end "morons" in a public forum. alright, i'm done.
